CANVAS IN MOTION: SACRIFICIO IMPRUDENTE

Can a painter walk right up to a museum with their latest masterpiece? I sure did! As guests waited in line to enter The Broad, I strutted by with my new oil painting, “Sacrificio Imprudente”.

This is the second edition of my “Canvas in Motion” series where I bring my paintings to the museums and institutions I’d like for them to be in.

I’m proud to announce that this specific painting has gotten a two-month residency at a gallery in Manhattan Beach! The Manhattan Beach Art Center will be showcasing “Sacrificio Imprudente” this year from the 28th of July till the 8th of October.

Description of “Sacrificio Imprudente”: Even large offerings / sacrifices result in a game of 50/50. The coyote represents Huēhuēcoyōtl, the Mexica deity of mischeif. Giving your heart to Huēhuēcoyōtl is like playing a dangerous game with a trickster, you don’t know what you’re going to win.

¿Una pintora puede caminar hasta un museo con su última obra maestra? ¡Ciertamento lo hice! Mientras los invitados esperaban en la fila para entrar a The Broad, pasé frente de ellos con mi nueva obra al óleo, “Sacrificio Imprudente”.

Esta es la segunda edición de mi serie "Canvas in Motion" en la que llevo mis obras a los museos e instituciones en las que me gustaría que estuvieran.

¡Me enorgullece anunciar que esta obra específica obtuvo una residencia de dos meses en una galería en Manhattan Beach! El Centro de Arte de Manhattan Beach exhibirá “Sacrificio Imprudente” este año del 28 de julio al 8 de octubre.

Descripción de “Sacrificio Imprudente”: Hasta ofrendas / sacrificios grandes resultan siendo un juego de 50/50. El coyote representa a Huēhuecoyōtl, el deidad Mexica de travesura. Dandole tu corazón a Huēhuecoyōtl es como rifándose con un embaucador; no sabes lo que vas a ganar.
